Elementary School Day Schedule in Bulverde, Texas
The day begins before the first lesson.
I don't know what happened in your car this morning.
Maybe your child couldn't find the other shoe. Maybe breakfast ended up on someone's shirt. Maybe there were tears because a sibling wanted to sit in the "right" seat. Or maybe they're bursting through the door because they can't wait to tell me they lost another tooth.
Whatever the morning looked like, every child walks into a fresh start.
Soft music is already playing. The day's visual schedule is waiting on the board using both pictures and words, so students can immediately see what's coming next.
Before every transition, you'll often hear me say,
"In just a minute... but not yet."
Students know exactly what they're about to do before anyone stands up. They know what's expected, where they're going, and how we'll get there together.
That simple pause gives every child time to prepare instead of react. By the time our first lesson begins, students already know they're safe, they know what's expected, and they're ready to learn.
Our elementary school day schedule in Bulverde, Texas is designed to give Grades 1–3 students strong academics, calm routines, and time to learn without feeling rushed.
Those first few minutes may seem small. But they're the foundation for a school day where children can focus on learning instead of wondering what's coming next.
Learning isn't one-size-fits-all.
Every child learns differently, and I don't expect seven students to show their understanding in exactly the same way.
One student may explain an idea out loud while another builds a model. Someone else may sketch their thinking or use technology because writing isn't the easiest way for them to communicate what they know.
I'm constantly listening, asking questions, and adjusting instruction based on what I see. If a concept clicks quickly, we move forward. If it needs another explanation or a different approach, we take the time to make it make sense.
The goal isn't to get through a lesson.
The goal is for every child to truly understand it.

Small class. Individual attention. Real learning.
Learning is something students do together.
Some of the best learning doesn't happen while I'm talking. It happens when students explain their thinking to one another.
You'll often hear students saying things like,
"Can you show me how you figured that out?"
"I got a different answer..."
"Wait... I think I understand now."
Those conversations matter.
When children explain their thinking, they're doing more than finding the right answer. They're learning to listen, ask questions, change their minds when new ideas make sense, and build confidence in their own thinking.
At Legacy Foundations Academy, our small private elementary school gives students the opportunity to learn in a multi-age classroom where discussion, collaboration, and curiosity are part of every day.
Because years from now, I don't want students to remember that they finished the worksheet.
I want them to remember that learning was something they were excited to do.

You'll see growth happen.
Every child starts somewhere different.
The goal isn't for every student to be on the same page at the same time. The goal is for every student to keep moving forward.
Throughout the year, students at Legacy Foundations Academy regularly track their own progress. Whether it's reading fluency, math mastery, writing, or another skill, they can actually see how far they've come.
Children are far more motivated when they can look at their own work and say,
"I couldn't do that before."
Families don't have to wait for report cards to know how things are going.
Progress is visible, celebrated, and shared throughout the year.
Because confidence doesn't come from earning a grade.
It comes from seeing yourself grow.

One example of how students visually
track their own growth throughout the year.
Growth deserves to be celebrated.
Some of my favorite moments don't happen during a lesson.
They happen when I hand a student the phone.
I'll smile and say,
"Let's call home."
Sometimes we have a little fun first.
"Hi, Mrs. Smith. This is Mrs. Gonzalez, and I'm here with Joey because he did something at school today. We talked about it, and we think it would be best if he tells you himself..."
Then Joey gets on the phone.
"Mom! I read 30 more words in a minute than I could in September!"
Those moments matter.
Because growth isn't only measured by test scores. It's measured in confidence, effort, character, and the pride students feel when they realize how far they've come.
I want students to leave school believing, "I can do hard things, and the people around me notice."

Calm is something we build together.
Children aren't expected to be perfect.
They're expected to learn.
At Legacy Foundations Academy, children learn emotional regulation alongside strong academics because both are essential for long-term success. That includes learning how to wait, how to solve problems, how to handle disappointment, how to celebrate someone else's success, and how to keep trying when something feels difficult.
When challenges happen, we don't rush past them or react with frustration. We slow down, talk through what happened, and practice what to do next.
Because emotional regulation isn't something children magically arrive with.
It's something they're learning every day.
As the adult in the room, my job is to provide the steady guidance that helps students feel safe enough to learn from mistakes, recover from hard moments, and move forward with confidence.
Over time, those small moments become something bigger.
Children begin to trust themselves.
They trust one another.
And they help create the kind of classroom where everyone can learn.
More than academics
A strong elementary education matters.
So do the memories children carry with them.
Some of the moments students remember most won't come from a worksheet or a test.
They'll come from Crazy Hair Day. Spirit Week. Holiday celebrations. The excitement of field trip day. The classroom traditions everyone looks forward to. The science experiment everyone can't stop talking about. The day they finally beat me at a learning game.
Because childhood should be joyful.
Throughout the school year, students enjoy themed learning days, school pictures, special projects, classroom traditions, holiday celebrations, and educational field trips, including one that's covered by tuition. Additional field trip opportunities may be offered throughout the year.
Just because Legacy Foundations Academy is intentionally small doesn't mean students miss out on the experiences that make elementary school special.
In many ways, they get more of them.
Because the goal isn't just to build strong readers and mathematicians.
It's to help children love coming to school.

Finding the right school is about more than academics.
Legacy Foundations Academy isn't designed to be the right school for every family.
It's designed to be the right school for the families who are looking for this kind of learning environment.
If what you've read feels like the kind of school you've been hoping to find, I'd love to meet you, answer your questions, and learn more about your child.
Applying isn't a commitment. It's simply the first step in determining whether we're the right fit for one another.
